Destin, Florida Fishing at Sandestin

Fishing Gear / Supplies:

  • Spitfire Mercantile offers live worms, shrimp, shiners and crickets.
  • Pre-packaged fishing kits for children and adults or single fishing poles are available for purchase or rental. Artificial lures, bobbers, hooks, fishing themed gifts and sundries are also available for purchase at Spitfire Mercantile, located at the Baytowne Marina. Fishing Charters:

  • Fishing charters can be arranged with Lil' Lucky and Sandestin's newest vessel Ceviché. Lil' Lucky is Sandestin's longest running light tackle fishing charter operation now in their 11th year, conveniently located in the Baytowne Marina. Fishing charters departing from Baytowne Marina are available with a reservation from Capt. Sid by calling 850.699.2286.

Fishing Rules and Regulations

Fishing in the Ponds:

  • Fishing is available for all Resort Guests at any of the 72 ponds located on property. Each pond is stocked and CATCH and RELEASE is required. A fishing license is not required when fishing in the ponds.

Fishing on the Beach:

  • Resort guests can also fish on the beach and keep their catch. A fishing license is required when fishing from the shore. We ask that guests be very, very courteous to others swimming in the water and sitting on the shore. The most convenient times to fish on the beach would be early morning or late afternoon.

Fishing at The Village of Baytowne Wharf:

  • Fishing is available for Resort guests and visitors to The Village of Baytowne Wharf at the Pier located at the end of Hammerhead's Bar and Grille. A fishing license is not required for fishing on this dock, and this is the only pier on property where fishing is allowed.

License Requirements:

  • A fishing license is only required if you are fishing from the shore or from a boat that does not provide a license for you.
  • Fishing licenses may be obtained from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Guests will need to write down their license number from the website and keep it with them while they fish. They will receive the actual license in the mail at a later date.
